Warehouse Thief Jailed For 15 Months
Shane Leonard raided a warehouse and stole computer equipment and petty cash, Sheffield Crown Court heard.
He activated an alarm and police attended the scene when the burglar had already left. Luckily at the time of the burglary it was snowing heavily so police followed Leonards footprints 1.4 miles to his home.
Leonard, aged 24, of Cedar Crescent, Kendray, Barnsley, admitted burglary and other offences of handling stolen goods, possessing amphetamines with intent to supply and producing cannabis.
Andrew Smith, for Leonard, said he had been addicted to Class B drugs for some time and stole to fund his habit.
Judge, Julian Goose jailed him for 15 months.
